Introduction to A Level Physics

A Level Physics at Sandy Secondary School is identified as a key subject by the Russell Group of Universities and is a solid choice for students considering careers across science, engineering, medicine, and technology. Examined by AQA (Specification 7408), this course dives into genuinely interesting topics that explain how the universe works, supported by fantastic teaching staff.

In Year 12, students study Measurements and Errors, Particles and Radiation, Waves, Mechanics and Materials, and Electricity. Year 13 extends into Further Mechanics and Thermal Physics, Fields and Their Consequences, and Nuclear Physics. Students also choose an optional unit from Astrophysics, Medical Physics, Engineering Physics, or Turning Points in Physics Electronics.

The course combines theoretical understanding with practical experimentation, developing skills that are invaluable across many walks of life. For any student looking to enhance their knowledge of the world around them, Physics is a great A Level choice that answers questions about the universe in ways no other subject can.
