Introduction to A Level Spanish

A Level Spanish at Sandy Secondary School builds on the knowledge, understanding, and skills gained at GCSE, developing fluency and cultural awareness over a two-year course. Examined by AQA (7692), students engage with the Spanish-speaking world through current affairs, literature, film, and advanced grammar.

The course content covers Social Issues and Trends in Hispanic society, Political and Artistic Culture in the Hispanic world, and the study of literary texts and films. Students are required to use grammar structures actively and accurately, developing confidence in listening, reading, writing, and speaking Spanish at an advanced level.

A language qualification will help you in any chosen career within our international community. The ability to communicate in Spanish — one of the most widely spoken languages in the world — opens doors to opportunities across every sector, from business and law to tourism and international organisations.
