Examined by Pearson Edexcel, this qualification offers a sound base for students who wish to continue studying business at university or enter a career in a variety of different business areas.

The course covers seven units spanning the breadth of modern business. Unit 1 explores the purposes, structure, and external environment of different businesses. Unit 2 develops skills in marketing campaign creation, while Unit 3 covers personal and business finance. Unit 4 gives students hands-on experience managing a real business or social enterprise event.

The course also includes Unit 5 on International Business, examining how UK businesses develop strategies to trade globally; Unit 6 on Principles of Management and leadership in the workplace; and Unit 8 on Recruitment and Selection Processes.
