Introduction to Music Practitioners

Music has taken a huge leap forward at Sandy Secondary School. The entire department facilities have undergone a complete transformation, and we are very excited to be offering the RSL Subsidiary Diploma for Music Practitioners. Equivalent to 1.5 A Levels, this qualification gives a broad overview of the music sector with a focus on music performance.

The department now boasts a fully functioning iMac suite with all MIDI and recording equipment for each station, a well-equipped professional recording studio space, and multiple practice rooms with various instruments. Students complete five units over two years, developing practical performance skills alongside industry knowledge.

To succeed in this course, you must have a keen interest in music and the music industry, and be a capable performer with some experience performing to an audience. Successful artists such as Ed Sheeran and Jess Glynne studied this course!
